5 Things You Didn’t Know About Handmade Jewellery

May 23, 2017 0

With the rise in popularity of handmade jewellery, it has become a sought after and trendy option for wardrobes. These items are like mini works of art, each handcrafted with care and love. So, if you are considering starting a collection, or adding to one, here are a few things you may not have known about handmade pieces.

1. You do pay for your time.

Whether you have your eye on a personalized necklace or a hand-stamped piece, handmade means that someone has crafted, shaped, and finalised every part of the piece. This takes time and the majority of the price tag reflects payment for the artists’ skill and time.

2. Materials are hand selected.

Each time you don a beautiful piece of the highest quality handmade jewellery in Brisbane offered by Ringleaders or by a similar jeweller, you are wearing materials that have been selected with the utmost care. The jewellery maker chose the material for its quality and colour, and a range of other features that give it that special touch. Such carefully chosen materials help to create unique pieces that can’t be substituted by mass-produced items.

3. The focus is on quality.

A jewellery maker always concentrates on creating a product to be proud of, whereas mass producers work about quantity over quality. Handmade jewellery is made by a true artist who carefully controls the entire process and takes great pride in their work to make sure every item is up to their strict standard.

4. Ethical items

Today’s jewellery makers are aware of where their materials originate from, which is why they are usually invested in the world around them and pick suppliers who can meet their ethical expectations as well as quality requirements.

5. It’s a unique process.

Each jewellery artisan has a special way of producing their items. It is not only a creative process, but also a fabrication process. In fact, each process is so distinct that a piece of jewellery can be attributed to its maker without even the need of a name stamp. Owning a piece of the craftsman’s jewellery is like owning your very own valuable painting. Whether it’s a necklace or a bracelet, a pair of earrings, or a bespoke ring, handmade jewellery is about the quality, the craftsman, and the community. It’s not just something you wear once and toss aside, but rather a unique heirloom.

Each jewellery maker has a different mind, different creative process, and different ideas. This is exactly why their pieces of jewellery are made in smaller quantities, with each piece taking a great deal of time and effort to ensure that the quality always trumps machinery-produced jewellery. Handmaking jewellery is so much more than a mere process, which is what makes the items more valuable and more unique – craftsmen are able to control the entire process from start to finish to ensure you receive a one-of-a-kind keepsake.

Whether you wear your pieces every day or for special occasions, your handmade pieces will never go out of fashion and are sure to be talking points wherever you go.

Back to Black

March 5, 2017 0

Back to black. After months of finding a perfect jacket I finally found one from Zaful. I’ve been looking for the right kind of jacket that exudes casual yet chic in a sense that I could just literally put it on and match it with any kind of outfit.

I took these photos minutes away from me getting my hair back to a dark toned kind of hue. I have always been wanting to go back to a dark toned kind of gal and it finally happend. My hair has been damaged for so long. It has undergone so much process of color, bleach, straighten and so on and on. Finally I have scheduled myself to see my favorite colorist and now I´m a happy lady having a dark toned hair with bluish grey highlights while typing on this post.

Enjoy your lazy weekend!

Macau at Christmas Time

March 4, 2017 0

I get it, it´s not all roses and strawberries when it comes to going to school and working at the same time. Getting tasks of research papers here and there can be quite curveball since I bet it isn´t that easy to dive into reading hundreds of pages of journals to support the topic your writing. But with hard work and passion every week I get to learn a lot more than I think I should.

I have come to love multi-tasking in one day. Imagine my 24 hours isn´t enough I suppose. I just want to take back time and reminisce on my vacation in Macau, on how I love the cool breezy air with my favorite Zaful clothing clinging to me.

Women in Black Dresses

If I have come to a recent fascination of wearing red dresses, truly my love for wearing black dresses will always be there. Iconic women in black dresses with the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and the 1920s designs of Coco Chanel will always have a place in the foundation of fashion.
